How did this new album and overall concept for it come about, and what are your ultimate goals with it?

I was laid off from my job of 10 years. After attending school for additional certificates, I still could not find a job. As I was taking inventory of my goals and aspirations, my sister reminded me of my long lost love for music and how my singing touched so many people’s lives.

I knew that I had dedicated a number or years to my legal career, but never to my music, so I felt that I had to make a mark if I wanted to be taken seriously as a singer, and so the idea for my CD “A Second Chance “ was born: A Second Chance for my dream; A Second Chance for my love; A Second Chance for my life.

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of recording a new album?

I found it challenging working with so many well-known and experienced singers and musicians. I was fairly new to this business and I had never had background singers or so many fine musicians accompany me. At first that’s all I could focus on until I realized what an important role I played for others and for the project.

How would you describe what inspires you to do what you do?

I almost died almost three years ago and believing that I survived to utilize the special gift of voice that I was blessed with and the need to accomplish my goals in my new career inspires me every day to keep pushing forward and upward toward success.

What elements do you look for in a song that makes it especially satisfying for you to perform?

I look for a believable story of inspiration that I can relate to and retell to others, along with some slamming music.

Of your touring and gigs so far in your career, do any stand out as being particularly memorable or defining moments?

My first CD release concert stands out in my mind as memorable because it was to use the words of my audience “spectacular and amazing. “ It was a red carpet event with strobe lights, background singers and a sizeable orchestra to accompany me on a super size stage. I will always remember it.

What’s your absolute favorite part of the World, and why?

I love the Caribbean. I love the foods fresh from the ocean, the smell of nature (flowers and fresh fruits) and the beauty of the ocean.
